HKDSE German – How it works
From 2025 onwards, students taking Category C (Other Languages) in the HKDSE must submit results from
designated international language exams, as recognized by the HKEAA. Among all the options, German
stands out as a top choice. It combines Europe’s most widely spoken language with its largest economy
and rich culture, offering lifelong opportunities in study and career.
DSLC is here to bridge that gap with a dedicated HKDSE-focused German program. Unlike our regular
Young People’s Courses, this program is exam-driven, with structured homework, mock exams, and
targeted preparation so students can walk into the official exam with confidence.
For German, the recognized qualification is the Goethe-Zertifikat, aligned with the Common European
Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), from level A1 to C2. Students must achieve A2 level or
above. The examination includes 4 modules: listening, writing, speaking and reading, so thorough
preparation is essential.
Passing these exams requires not only language knowledge but also exam strategies and consistent
practice, exactly what DSLC specializes in delivering!
